Jio IPO Finally Announced

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), led by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, held its 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in 2025, where the long-anticipated Jio IPO was officially announced. This marks Reliance’s first public offering of a major subsidiary since Reliance Petroleum’s debut in 2006. The IPO is set to open a new chapter for Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd., which has been the backbone of India’s digital revolution.

Stock Market Reaction

Historically, Reliance stock tends to dip on AGM days, and 2025 followed the same trend. According to Dr. VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Investments, the RIL stock slipped nearly ₹40 from its peak during the session.

Reliance’s Growth Vision

Reiterating his ambitious roadmap, Mukesh Ambani reaffirmed his 2022 promise that Reliance will more than double its EBITDA by the end of its “Golden Decade” in 2028, compared to the base level of ₹1.25 lakh crore ($14.6 billion).

Two New Growth Engines: RCPL and Reliance Intelligence

Ambani unveiled two new large-scale business units – RCPL (Reliance Consumer Products Limited) and Reliance Intelligence. Both ventures, he claimed, hold the potential to surpass the size of existing business verticals, cementing Reliance’s leadership across industries.

Green Energy Transition

Ambani further stressed on the importance of the New Energy business, projecting it as a major revenue driver over the next decade. He believes the clean energy division could grow as large as Reliance’s Oil-to-Chemicals (O2C) business within 5–7 years, aligning with India’s energy transition goals.

Looking Ahead

From telecom to retail, energy to AI, Reliance continues to strengthen its diversified business model. With the Jio IPO, new verticals like Reliance Intelligence, and the rapid rise of green energy, Ambani assured stakeholders that “the best of Reliance is yet to come.”
