Indian Stock Market Closed on August 27, 2025

The Indian equity markets, including the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), are closed today, Wednesday, August 27, 2025, on account of Shri Ganesh Chaturthi. All trading activities across equity, derivatives, and SLB (Securities Lending and Borrowing) segments remain suspended for the day.

No Trading in Equity and Derivatives

According to the official holiday calendar released by the exchanges, no regular trading session will be conducted today. Investors and traders will not be able to carry out transactions in the equity, equity derivatives, and currency derivatives markets.

However, the commodity derivatives market operated by MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange) will remain open during the evening session after 5:00 PM, while staying shut in the morning session.

Normal trading will resume tomorrow, Thursday, August 28, 2025, as per the standard schedule:

  • Pre-open session: 9:00 AM – 9:08 AM
  • Regular trading session: 9:15 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Closing session: 3:40 PM – 4:00 PM
