CRED IndusInd RuPay Credit Card

Fintech major CRED has taken another step toward strengthening its financial services portfolio by introducing a new co-branded credit card in collaboration with IndusInd Bank. The product, built on the RuPay network, is aimed at India’s growing base of mass-affluent consumers who seek premium lifestyle benefits with everyday convenience.

Designed for digitally savvy consumers, the card offers a simple yet rewarding structure. Cardholders will receive 5% reward points on all e-commerce purchases and 1% on offline spends. The true value lies in the instant redemption of these rewards within the CRED ecosystem, which can be applied toward flight and hotel bookings, shopping at over 500 partner merchants, and a wide array of products on the CRED Store.

The choice of the RuPay network is a key strategic decision, allowing the card to be linked directly to a user’s UPI account. This seamless integration of UPI and credit card payments is a major step forward, catering to the growing trend of digital transactions in India while aligning with the government’s vision for a domestic payments network.

Sovereign: An Invite-Only World of Prestige

Alongside the credit card, CRED has unveiled “Sovereign,” a highly exclusive, invite-only membership society. This program is a testament to CRED’s ambition to cater to India’s most elite individuals by blending aspirational value with premium financial services.

Each accepted member of the Sovereign society receives a bespoke 18K gold-etched credential, which is a physical representation of their status. This is not merely a payment instrument; it’s a key to a world of exclusive privileges, including:

  • Syndicated access to early-stage startup investments alongside top angel investors.
  • Early rights to acquire rare real estate, art, and collectibles through partnerships with auction houses like Christie’s and Sotheby’s.
  • “White-glove” travel experiences, with access to private jets, yachts, and even curated civilian spaceflight opportunities.
  • VIP access to prestigious global sporting and cultural events, such as Wimbledon and Formula One.

With these new launches, CRED is clearly moving beyond its original identity as a credit card bill payment app. The introduction of Yosemite—which also includes new services for tracking and managing investments, fixed deposits, and digital gold—marks its transformation into a comprehensive financial super-app.

This collaboration with IndusInd Bank is mutually beneficial. It allows CRED to diversify its revenue streams and deepen its relationship with its high-value customer base. For IndusInd Bank, the partnership provides a powerful gateway to a young, tech-savvy, and credit-worthy audience, significantly expanding its digital footprint in a competitive market.
